By the end of the course, the Counselor, Marriage and Family Therapist, Social Worker or Psychologist will be able to:

-Identify three factors that affect client perception of crisis intervention.
-Name four sociocultural factors that affect therapeutic intervention during a crisis.
-Identify four concepts of status change that impact on crisis intervention
-Explain four phases of crisis counseling for rape victims.
-Name five techniques used by Shirely’s therapist did Getz highlight as keys to the successful use of the deductive model in crisis interviewing.
-Name three suggested techniques for addressing panic during crisis intervention.
-Name six influences a client’s cultural background may have on crisis intervention and recovery.
-Name the three elements of the BCRI Model for providing effective community-based crisis intervention for poor, urban African Americans.
